Every book in the school library can have multiple physical copies — each copy is tracked individually, including its condition and location.

A book can be issued to a student or a teacher, always with a due date.

If a book isn't returned by its due date, the librarian can record a fine at the time of return — this is entered manually, it isn't automatically calculated or charged.

Students and parents can view their own currently borrowed books and search the catalog to check if a book is available.
